Dear SARDASA Board and interested parties,
Given the latest developments regarding the spread of COVID-19 at public gatherings, the Executive Team of SARDASA has decided it would be prudent to suspend all activities at the Old Pueblo Dance Center for the remainder of March. We will reassess prior to April 1 to let you know if we will continue the closure into April. Coronaviruses are very contagious and the COVID-19 disease is particularly severe for people over 70 years old or with chronic illnesses that make them vulnerable. Given the nature of our activities, the age of many of our dancers, and the fact that several national dance organizations have released recommendations to suspend dancing until the end of April, we feel that suspending dance hall activities is the appropriate response. We are also canceling the March 28th SARDASA annual meeting and we will get back to you with a new date for the meeting as soon as feasible.
Thank you for your patience while we address this issue. We wish you a safe and healthy Spring, so you can come back dancing once the coronavirus concerns have passed.
Best Regards,
Claire Zucker
SARDASA President
